New products {inspired by Spring}

Every cute little outfit needs a cute hair accessory and  especially for Easter so.... my mom bought my girls matching Easter dresses and I wanted to accent those with matching headbands.  I made each girl a different spring/Easter inspired headband.  My middle doesn't like the elastic bands so hers is a metal headband with ribbon. She LOVES girly but is not a fan of feathers so hers is featherless!

My little loves headbands no matter the style!  Is it cute?  Is it girly?  Is it sparkly?  Yes?  Then she wants to wear it!  Oh and check out the adorable Petty Romper!  Those are coming soon to our Boutique!  Look for details coming soon!

Polka Dot Couture

Easter

Easter has come and gone but we had a wonderful weekend and I thought I'd share with you all the adorableness(is that a word?) that was my children in their cute little coordinating outfits and headbands!

The whole crew just before church!

She finally found her Easter basket!  (Eventually I'll put together a tutorial on how to make the tutu basket)

My big guy has really mastered the whole boy climbing trees thing so his was hidden in the tree!

I'm pretty sure the littlest of the bunch didn't even know what they were looking for, she was just following the rest!

Their prizes...the littlest is too busy munching candy to look up for the pic!

So that was our Easter in a nutshell!  So thankful for family and mostly thankful for the real reason for Easter.  That we celebrated a Saviour who died for us!
New products coming soon!  Check back soon!

A little Fairy Princess Garden Birthday Party

This summer I had the fun, excitement and challenge of putting together and pulling off a Fairy Princess Garden Birthday Party for my daughter who was turning 4.  She was very specific that she wanted her and her guests to wear fairy wings, so.... thats what they did!  It took hours to prepare but once I got into it, I couldn't stop!  There are just so many cute ideas!
Heres what I made for the party... tutus (straight from my Pixie Dust Boutique shop), handmade boas (so cute and ohh so easy to make), butterfly banner (made from scrapbooking paper), paper pennant banner to accent the cake platter,  pinwheels (also made from scrapbooking paper), fairy wings (I made about six of them and swore I would never make another one but for one dilusional second I thought I could make and sell them in Pixie Dust Boutique), phew... I think that is it besides the food! So, here is her party in a nutshell!
Over view of the Garden Party

Super fun and easy to make!  Pinwheels made from scrapbook paper!
 The Fairy Princesses
Of course they put on makeup!
 Less is more!
We played, "pin the crown on the princess"
 Ate tasty princess pink cupcakes!

Cupcakes with the most adorable flower paper cups (bought at Jo-Annes)
 There was crown making!
Too colorful to resist a picture!
 Chocolate covered icecream pops
 Picture Perfect
We had tasty punch (made with ginger ale, juice and sherbet!)
A bit out of order but this is the birthday girl anxiously awaiting her guests!

This party was so much fun to plan!  I'm gonna have a lot to live up to next year for her birthday!  Pony rides?  Ugh, I don't know!  We'll see what she wants!  I better start planning now!

Bridal and wedding accessories/fascinators

http://www.etsy.com/listing/78573616/wedding-accessory-ivorywhite-satin

I've been involved with the bridal industry for over five years.  My first experience with bridal customers began when I taught brides about good skin care tips and how to get their skin wedding day ready.  After their initial skincare consult, I had the privilege of doing their wedding day makeup!  I always enjoyed this because I got to be with them in the quiet (or sometimes not so quiet) moments of the morning when they were getting ready to marry their best friend.  It was in those moments that they opened up to me, sharing jitters or excitements.  I loved being able to share those moments with my brides.
Fast forward a few years and a few ideas later, I finally have turned my passion for creating with my hands into a full time business!  Pixie Dust Boutique was born out of me creating Christmas presents for my girls and nieces.  From there I realized I could share my art with others.  I started off designing hair accessories for little girls (which I still do), making tutus(only occasionally now), and more sophisticated clips for sophisticated little girls or their moms!  Whats so fun to me is that all of this has evolved into so much more.  I began making bridal hair accessories and bridal  fascinators which drew me in a slightly different direction.  From there my business has exploded and allowed me to work with brides again but in a different genre.  This caused me to create a name within my Pixie Dust label called, Je T'aime Bridal.  At this point Je T'aime is still masquerading under Pixie Dust, sometime in the near future Je T'aime Bridal will be stepping out all on its own with Pixie Dust Boutique remaining.  I have a passion for creating within both genres and don't plan on giving up on either.  Pixie Dust allows me to use my creative juices in a fun, whimsy, colorful sort of a way while Je T'aime gives me the opportunity to bring out the sophisticated, elegant, rich side.
All of that to say, here's a sampling of what Je T'aime offers to our brides... hope you like it!
