Ivory Satin peonies and feather hair fascinator

By far my best seller in Pixie Dust Boutique! This item is a part of our
Je T'aime Bebe bridal line.  Comes in Ivory but can easily be made in any desired color. Tulle is the default on this item but white bird cage netting can also be used upon request.   Absolutely a breathtaking piece, perfect for the elegant bride!

Shop in Anoka MN and visit "The Wren's Nest"

 The Wren's Nest
GIRLS NIGHT OUT!
Join the merchants of downtown Anoka for a monthly evening of shopping, giveaways, special events, extra discounts and fun!  Next Girls Night Out is this Thursday, May 12th from
 4:00-8:00pm!

A couple of months ago I had the previledge of meeting a woman who absolutely felt like a kindred spirit from the moment I met her!  Lisa Greene and I met first through email because I was interested in selling my Pixie Dust Boutique items in her store.  When we met in person we just clicked and it felt like I could have talked with her for hours!
Lisa's store, "The Wren's Nest", in Anoka MN, is one of those places you walk into and  first find yourself catching your breath because it is so beautiful upon entering!  Her store is a gorgeous mix of vintage pieces mixed with new items made to look vintage.  Breath taking jewelery pieces, clothing, re-purposed furniture, decorating items and now a new childrens line just to name a few. There is something for everyone in her store!

Lisa has a way of bringing you into her store and chatting  like you've known her for years.  She makes each customer feel like her special guest.  I think thats a unique thing in this day and age!
Here is Lisa's story in her own words:

I started out about 20 years ago making floral arrangements and potpourri at local craft shows.  That blossomed into custom work for homes and weddings.  Then came a move to Colorado and I really got my wings!  I discovered power tools!  I now had a room dedicated to my work complete with heat and wonderful lighting!  I began making furniture out of twigs, barn wood and doors.  Then I found the local thrift shops full of hidden treasures of furniture in all shapes and sizes so it seemed a good time to try my hand at reupholstering chairs and love seats or just taking a little something and turning it into something new.
Now it was time to try the dream...I opened a small shop in Golden Colorado called Where Ever You Grow.  The name seemed to me to be a good fit as I was growing by leaps and bounds in my new found freedom to create.  As time went by I completely redid the  back yard from the grass up and started having teas on Sundays and classes on how to make stained glass mosaic table tops etc.  My days were completely filled with the shop and all of the activities it encompassed.  My boys Nathan (10) and Benjamin (8) would help me create the tea service complete with themes and music from local high school students.  They really enjoyed dressing up as fancy waiters to serve at the teas and gave me some quality time spent with them.
As time went on I opened a shop in Morrison Colorado, then in Arvada where I really found a home.  After 3 years in Arvada where the name The Wren's Nest came to be my husband was transferred to Washington DC so I sold the shop and the name to a darling gal and packed up our bags and headed out on a new adventure.
We settled in Maryland and after 8 years returned to Minnesota to be closer to my family.
After looking long and hard, I discovered Anoka and just fell in love!  It seemed again I had found a home for the shop.  I opened in September of 2009 and I have to say I have never been happier!
My journey to Anoka Minnesota has been full of delightful twists and turns but oh it's good to be home.

Met Bob Greene

I met Bob Greene at the Mall of America!  He very kindly took a picture with me after I snuck up and asked him for one with my daughter and I!  Thanks Bob!  Autumn doesn't look extremely thrilled, I think she must have been star struck;)  At least her flower headband looks super cute!
I'm very much looking forward to reading his book, "20 years younger".  He and Oprah talked about this on her show last week!  Very good!
