Stenciled Burlap Curtains {this was just too fun not to post}

I realize this is just a wee bit outside of the genre of little girl hair accessories but I just couldn't resist sharing with you all this super easy, pretty idea!  I LOVE BURLAP!  Lucky for me it seems to be a huge craze right now and its very easy to find... not to mention inexpensive!  I saw some curtains in a little shop (The French Flea) in a nearby town.  I LOVED them but they were outside of my price comfort and I thought the challenge of making them would be way more fun!  Whenever I told someone I was making burlap curtains they were like, "ohhhhhhh?  BURLAP? Hmmmm, sounds interesting" (they'd say this with that look in their eye that says, you're a crazy person!)  Ha ha, they just didn't have my vision! LOL.(now do you see my vision?) They turned out so beautifully and bring a warmth and texture to the room!
    So, here's what you need to make them.
-Measure your windows to decide on the size~I used 2 yards because I wanted them to pool on the floor.
-a stencil of some sort~I used a metal wall decoration.
-spray paint in your color choice~ I used black but you could use brown, white, cream, whatever you want.
-A large well ventilated area~I sprayed mine in my garage with the doors open.

So, first lay out your burlap like this.  I didn't worry too much about whether the surface was super clean or not... I mean, it's burlap, come on!

Then line up your stencil on the burlap(I truly wasn't too precise, I just eye-balled it)
                                                     Then, spray away!!!

                                                    Here's the end result

Once the paint is no longer tacky, hem your raw edges and make a wider hem for your curtain rod.
Then hang it up!  You can hang it with no liner or you can sew a liner out of cotton or whatever.  I have a liner with mine so that the light doesn't fade the stencil when it shines through.

                       Here it is all finished and hung up!  I LOVE it! What do you think?  Hmmm, I wonder what Nate Berkus would think of this? :)

New products {inspired by Spring}

Every cute little outfit needs a cute hair accessory and  especially for Easter so.... my mom bought my girls matching Easter dresses and I wanted to accent those with matching headbands.  I made each girl a different spring/Easter inspired headband.  My middle doesn't like the elastic bands so hers is a metal headband with ribbon. She LOVES girly but is not a fan of feathers so hers is featherless!

My little loves headbands no matter the style!  Is it cute?  Is it girly?  Is it sparkly?  Yes?  Then she wants to wear it!  Oh and check out the adorable Petty Romper!  Those are coming soon to our Boutique!  Look for details coming soon!

Polka Dot Couture

Easter

Easter has come and gone but we had a wonderful weekend and I thought I'd share with you all the adorableness(is that a word?) that was my children in their cute little coordinating outfits and headbands!

The whole crew just before church!

She finally found her Easter basket!  (Eventually I'll put together a tutorial on how to make the tutu basket)

My big guy has really mastered the whole boy climbing trees thing so his was hidden in the tree!

I'm pretty sure the littlest of the bunch didn't even know what they were looking for, she was just following the rest!

Their prizes...the littlest is too busy munching candy to look up for the pic!

So that was our Easter in a nutshell!  So thankful for family and mostly thankful for the real reason for Easter.  That we celebrated a Saviour who died for us!
